Episode 6 – Life Gets Dark As One Of Jehovah’s Witnesses

In this episode you’re going to see just how dark things can get as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. You will see my life as a young person growing up, into adulthood, and into my married life. This is a very personal episode and although it will get dark, you will see where the light came from in a very unexpected way that helped us to eventually exit the cult.

  1. What was the name of that book again?

Yeah, suicidal ideation bites. Didn’t realize you had experienced it so intensely.

    Thank you for sharing.

  2. I’m glad that it resonated, though also kind of sad, as I wish others didn’t have to go through many of the same things. Thanks for the encouragement, it means a lot! Freedom always comes with a price, but that price is worth it.

  3. You’re very welcome.

The book that I mentioned is “Driven to Distraction” by Edward Hallowell and John Ratey. It is geared toward those with ADHD/ADD.

In the next episode I’m going to mention a bunch of resources, and I think I might make a list and post it on here of various books and podcasts that helped us both out so much with links to each if I can to try to make it easy to find these things.

    And yeah, suicidal ideation bites.
